Designing the perfect solution for customers is one of the things we do best at BUILT Systems. So when a customer came to us needing a solution for holding sub-assemblies, the team went to work. To create the perfect solution, the team at BUILT took into account every problem that the customer was looking to solve and collaborated with them until it was exactly what they were looking for.
The Problem
The customer needed a custom-designed rack to hold sub-assemblies of a product prior to the final assembly.
The Criteria
The cart needed to hold parts at an angle so that they could be removed during the assembly process without contacting the other parts on the rack. The parts could not touch each other during transport or slide off the racks. The cart also needed 4 swivel casters and a floor lock.
Brainstorming and Design
The design team at BUILT quickly went to work to develop this mobile parts rack. The customer supplied a couple of the parts to model into SolidWorks to verify fit and function. With the 3D model created, they were able to construct a system that met the criteria of holding the parts at an angle and fixed in place and prevented them from contacting each other. This resulted in a product that is completely modular and durable, giving it the ability to be reused over and over again. This product is something that we at BUILT are proud to display.
