From a Need on the Plant Floor
The story of BUILT Systems begins not with a market study, but with a real need identified on the plant floor. Engineers at OMT-Veyhl were searching for workstations that could withstand demanding manufacturing environments while keeping operators safe and comfortable.
Traditional stations lacked adaptability, often forcing employees into uncomfortable setups and limiting productivity. When multiple people of different heights shared the same workstation, it became clear that “one-size-fits-all” wasn’t cutting it.
Turning a Problem into Innovation
Out of this challenge, BUILT Systems was born. With a focus on durability, ergonomics, and flexibility, engineers developed a line of height-adjustable, modular, steel solutions designed to meet the realities of modern manufacturing.
Unlike generic furniture, BUILT Systems solutions are purpose-built for industrial environments — strong enough to withstand daily wear, yet adaptable enough to evolve as processes change. Workstations can be configured with a variety of features and accessories to support different workflows, helping teams stay efficient and comfortable no matter the job at hand. Accessories include a light bar, whiteboard and pegboard panels, shelves, monitor arms, tool trolleys, and more.

Because the idea originated on the plant floor, every feature of a BUILT workstation was created with real users in mind. The team quickly saw how these workstations could change the way work got done, improving comfort, focus, and overall flow.
As one team lead shared:
“I use my workstation frequently, for everything from checking emails to leading team meetings. I share it with my material handler, who is taller, so we adjust it often for comfort. The built-in light has definitely come in handy, and the attached fan is on most of the time. With the dual screens, I can access more data at once and move through my daily tasks more efficiently.”
Other employees use their workstations for assembly, packing, inspection and quality control, fabrication prep, and other operational tasks.

What started as a solution for OMT-Veyhl’s own team soon expanded into a product line for manufacturers everywhere.
